    STS PROTECTION PLAN (Updated 5/19/2020)

    Protect your vacation. STS strongly recommends purchasing the STS Travel Protection Plan. This plan allows you to cancel for any reason prior to departure as outlined below. You will be prompted to add or decline the STS Travel Protection Plan when you access your reservation to make initial payment. The STS Travel Protection Plan must be added and paid in full within 30 days of initial payment or by final payment due date whichever is sooner. The STS Travel Protection Plan may not be added after trip has been paid for in full.

    What is included in the STS Travel Protection Plan?

    Pre-Departure Penalty Waiver provided by Student Travel Services, Inc.

    Cancel For Any Reason:

    You may cancel your trip for any reason up to 48 hours prior to your original scheduled departure time as indicated on your travel documents or no later than 5pm (EST) two days prior your check-in date for hotel-only bookings. All payments made excluding items listed below will be refunded in the form of travel credit* valid up to 1 year. For cancellations 30 days or more prior to departure, you may elect to receive 75% cash refund in lieu of travel credit less the non-refundable airfare portion of your travel package.

    The Pre-Departure Penalty Waiver does not reimburse the following "Excluded Items":

    • The price of the STS Travel Protection Plan.

    • Occupancy surcharges. If the number of travelers occupying a room decreases. The remaining travelers will be responsible for additional costs resulting from increases in the per person occupancy rate. For cancellations made less than 30 days prior to scheduled check-in date, any balance due will be deducted from the refund of the canceling traveler(s) unless remaining traveler(s) provide additional payment.

    • Miscellaneous fees and charges. Any fees or charges not directly related to your travel package such as reinstatement fees, change fees, payment related fees, etc.

    *Description of Travel Credit:

    • You will receive a travel vouchers for the cost of the package less any "Excluded Items" items outlined above, valid for travel packages booked through STS Travel or STSVacations.com within 1 year of original departure date. If your package included airfare booked an a scheduled airline, the credit for the air portion of your package will be directly with the airline. You will receive the airline ticket numbers and be advised of the ticket cost and original purchase date. You can use the cost of the airline ticket, less change fee [usually $150 to $250 per ticket] to any destination the issuing carrier serves. Terms of airline credit differ. Scheduled-air tickets must be used by one year from original purchase date however some airlines may require that tickets be reissued within 60 days of original purchase date. Please check with your airline for their specific requirements. STS will assist with rebooking flights for a $50/ticket administrative fee.

    For cancellations 30 days or more prior to departure, you may elect to receive 75% cash refund in lieu of travel credit less the non-refundable airfare portion of your travel package. Simply notify STS Travel at any time after cancellation up to 1 year after scheduled departure date in writing that you elect to have a cash refund in lieu of travel credit. Cash refunds will be refunded in the original form of payment. Travel credit expires one year after scheduled departure date and has no further value.

    Any increases in the air or hotel price of rebooked vacations are the responsibility of the traveler. Travel vouchers are issued in the original names of the passengers on the booking at the time of cancellation. The vouchers are non-transferable and name changes will not be accepted. Any tickets that are booked in basic economy class cannot be changed, carry no residual value and are non-refundable. When making a new reservation, TPP can be purchased, however, refunds will only be in the form of travel credit in the case of cancellation.

    Cancelling Your Trip

    If circumstances arise and you must cancel for any reason, simple email cancellations@ststravel.com no later than 48 hours prior to your original scheduled departure time as indicated on your air/hotel travel documents or no later than 5pm (EST) two days prior your check-in date for hotel-only bookings. All cancellations must be received in writing. Call 800-648-4849 to confirm receipt of your cancellation. Failure to contact STS will forfeit your plan reimbursement. Travel Credit will be processed within 14 days.

    Payment of STS Travel Protection Plan - Your cancellation right is not effective until the STS Travel Protection Plan is paid in full to STS. Under no circumstance can the STS Travel Protection Plan be added after you have made final payment for your travel package.

    The STS Travel Protection Plan is non-transferable and must be re-purchased if you want to have coverage on amended reservations.

    The STS Travel Protection Plan may not be purchased within 7 days of departure.
